Goodbye to a friend

19 June 2005

It's going to be another dry week here at Sushicam.

I got roped into another week-long business trip to DC. I leave tomorrow morning and will return next Sunday evening.

My apologies to you all for the recent dry spell in updates and for my inability to reply to any emails in a timely manner. I'll do my best to catch up on everything once I get back from this most recent trip.

It's Fathers day and I spent this afternoon with the in-laws and then we went out for dinner. After returning home I called back home to Michigan to wish my father a Happy Fathers Day and catch up on any news of local interest.

I found out that my younger brother is still in Thailand, my older Brother just returned to Brunei, and my fathers German Sheppard (Hannah) had to be put to sleep the week before last. It seems Hannah had a degenerative disease of the vertebra that was incapacitating her. Additionally she had a pretty advanced case of cancer and there was not much that could be done.

She was a really good dog. Not the smartest tool in the shed mind you, but always full of affection. A real and true companion. She will be greatly missed.

Goodbye Hannah.
