Recycling Photographs

21 November 2004

Since I have been too busy lately to do very much picture taking I have decided to dip into my archive and pull out some photos from the past.

I have specifically posted some pictures today from my "reject bin". These are photos that I discounted for one reason or another (bad focus, poor framing, motion blur, etc...) but have decided to post here to show you all that I take a lot of bad photos too. Sometimes I misjudge the lighting and screw up my shutter speeds. Sometimes I have a shot perfectly framed and then as I hit the shutter something barges in on the scene. Sometimes my camera has a trouble focus tracking a moving subject.

But then again, whats is bad to one person is good to another. So maybe I should post photos like this more often... It will add some variety to this site.

This weekends prints sale was pretty slow. It particularly hard to sit there and sell photos today since late last week I found out that a Yabusame festival was held at Zushi beach today. If I had known this fact before I signed up to sell photos I would have gladly skipped the sales this weekend in order to snag some more photos. I would have loved to test the new cameras focus tracking and burst mode on some Yabusame action.

In order to solve my photo storage problem while on vacations I have ordered an Epson P-2000. It looks to have a great set of features, but the thing that was the deciding factor for me to go for the Epson is the fact that is has an easily replacable battery. This will allow me to have a spare battery on hand when I am out shooting to ensure I don't run out of juice.

Once I get it in hand I will be ready to be set loose on Kyoto or Takayama for a few days at a time. I can't wait.
